The first issue of the magazine was released in March 2011 — a project launched by the Dutch publishing house behind Fantastic Man, with Scottish editor Penny Martin at the helm. The Gentlewoman positions itself as a magazine for stylish and ambitious women of the “new era,” with a strong focus on high-quality journalism and fashion shoots by some of Europe’s best photographers.
