Fräulein, a German magazine by Numéro Berlin art director Goetz Offergeld, draws inspiration from the strength and beauty of women. It explores their role in contemporary culture and fashion, and their place in society. The bold content is matched by radical design from Mike Meiré, the graphic mind behind 032c, A Magazine, Blau, Arch+, and other print masterpieces.

The magazine’s name creates a striking linguistic contrast — Fräulein has largely fallen out of use in German due to its reference to a woman’s marital status. But here, it takes on a fitting new context, proudly displayed on the cover.

Fräulein Issue 38 is devoted to Desires. As editor Ann-Kathrin Riedl observes in her opening letter, desire acts as a propulsive force that ‘motivates us to act, create, and evolve’ and, when harnessed correctly, it has the power to ‘challenge and move us’.
