1 Granary Magazine is an independent publication founded in 2012 by Olya Kuryshchuk, a Central Saint Martins (CSM) student, as a platform for students and emerging designers. Initially, the project began as a blog where students could share experiences, discuss the fashion industry, and ask questions that were often overlooked in academic curriculums.
The magazine has become a vital resource for students and emerging professionals, offering a platform for creativity and knowledge-sharing within the fashion industry.
This, seventh, issue is radically different from the previous ones — it features excerpts from interviews with more than 50 young people holding high-ranking positions at fashion brands such as Versace, Dior, Jil Sander, Jacquemus, Prada, Lanvin, Fendi, Marni, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, and many others. Their anonymous testimonies reveal the structural problems at the core of the fashion industry. The interviewees share personal predictions about the future of the industry and reflect on topics such as generational conflict, ageism, creative management, leadership, money, pay transparency, power dynamics, motherhood, and gender equality.
