The iconic Paris fashion magazine. Published twice a year, each issue is a large-format visual album packed with editorial shoots, laid out with immaculate design and printed on premium paper in various textures. Everything revolves around obsession — with fashion, art, or a certain way of life. Its creator and co-owner Ezra Petronio is a photographer and founder of the creative agency Petronio Associates. Reflecting on the magazine’s 1994 launch, Petronio described Paris as “a conservative place… and we wanted to scream.” Still, Self Service has stayed true to its style and traditions for decades.

The first issue of the magazine was released in March 2011 — a project launched by the Dutch publishing house behind Fantastic Man, with Scottish editor Penny Martin at the helm. The Gentlewoman positions itself as a magazine for stylish and ambitious women of the “new era,” with a strong focus on high-quality journalism and fashion shoots by some of Europe’s best photographers.
